Sûreté du Québec (Québec’s Provincial Police Service)
Across the vast province, the Sûreté du Québec is responsible for maintaining public order. This police service is in charge of most search and rescue operations.

Ministry of Public Safety of Québec
Since 2008, the Ministry of Public Safety of Québec took over from the Sûreté du Québec the responsibility of the search and rescue volunteers.
National Search and Rescue Secretariat
The National Search and Rescue Secretariat is the link between search and rescue organizations and every other Canadian actor in this field.
They are also responsible for the Sarscene magazine.
AdventureSmart is a national program that aims to minimize the risks of injuries related to outdoor activities. In order to do so, they created prevention programs, such as the “Hug-a-Tree and Survive” program.
